Abstract

     Between February and July 2024, an observational study was carried out at Al-Zahraa Teaching Hospital in Al-Kut, Iraq, in partnership with the University of Kerbala’s College of Medicine. The study enrolled 120 participants (ages 22–90), divided equally into an AF group (n=60) and a control group (n=60). Most atherogenic exhibit the highest mean values in patients with permanent atrial fibrillation (AF), The lowest mean values are typically observed in lone AF patients, suggesting a reduced atherogenic burden. The results also indicate that, regardless of blood pressure stage, a combination of increased TG/HDL ratio may be a good indication of specific atherogenic indices (AIP and CRI-I) in patients with AF. In conclusion, alongside routine monitoring of traditional lipid measures, parameters like AIP, AC, and CRI-I&II should be considered in day-to-day practice.
